DELCAM and SPRING Technologies speed up CAM department productivity



Delcam and SPRING Technologies announce a seamless interface between their core solutions PowerMILL/FeatureCAM and NCSIMUL.

SPRING Technologies and Delcam have closely worked together to deliver a seamless integration between NCSIMUL, a major standard for machining simulation and feed rate optimization, and the leading CAM softwares PowerMILL/FeatureCAM. Those interfaces will provide a complete solution for an accurate and efficient CAM-to-CNC machine programming process.

PowerMILL/FeatureCAM users will be able to simulate their toolpaths using NCSIMUL core features thanks to those brand new interfaces. With just one click, CAM users can transfer the relevant data directly from inside FeatureCAM/PowerMILL into NCSIMUL and prepare the right data for NC verification and delivery to the machine tool. This partnership intends to answer the needs of many companies which are manufacturing high value items: an integrated process that eases checks and validations of milling toolpaths.
Thanks to those interfaces/connections, NCSIMUL makes all the advantages of its technology available to the Delcam users. Comprehensive tests can be made on the computer, using its knowledge of milling applications. For example, the simulations eliminate manual prove-outs and make more efficient use of cutting tools. They also prevent any risk of machine or part breakage. The cutting conditions can also be optimized so improving the productivity of the machines. Moreover, technical documents can be standardized and disseminated right next to the machine in a click so that every team involved in the production cycle can communicate easily and accurately.

The long-standing and proven ability of NCSIMUL to give safe and optimized NC programs attracted the Delcam team, which is always developing new applications to increase the abilities of the Delcam range of products.

SICOM – Scalable and Interoperable Corrective Maintenance –

The result of many months of R&D in operational maintenance, SICOM represents a significant step forward in this field, notably by supporting, integrating and analyzing heterogeneous data, and ensuring that complex equipment and infrastructures remain fully maintained and operational.

The aim of SICOM is to predict, manage and optimize corrective maintenance processes.
  • A key role in this is the optimal assignment of maintenance requests by:
  • Life cycle management via an associated workflow, encapsulating the specific processes in the maintenance request
  • Interconnection with the company’s other information systems (ERP, CAPP, CMMS, etc.)
  • Instrumentation supported by technologies like the Kayentis pen, vital for reporting technical facts during the execution of maintenance requests, and sensors that monitor the machines in the production environment
These functions are all vital in collecting the data needed to finalize the maintenance request. This real-time capability enables the company using the machines to establish its priorities more accurately, send requests, schedule resources (human and machine tools) and thus gain in productivity and security.

SPRING Technologies with SICOM nominated for INNOVATION Awards 2012


The selection of the SICOM solution from 128 submissions from 95 companies proves SPRING Technologies’ superior capacity to innovate


SPRING Technologies is a major player in the market for simulation and optimization software dedicated to production processes and resources. It is one of five companies that have just been shortlisted in the “Productivity” category of France’s Trophées de l’Innovation INDUSTRIE 2012 award.

The selected product is its new solution called SICOM (Scalable and Interoperable Corrective Maintenance).

On February 13 2012, a jury of leading trade journalists specialized in a range of industrial sectors examined 128 submissions before shortlisting 19 innovations in 5 categories (environment, ergonomics, productivity, technologies and safety/security). The innovations will be competing for the prestigious Trophées de l’Innovation INDUSTRIE 2012 award and 5 of the 19 companies will be spotlighted on Tuesday March 27 at the exhibitors’ gala evening at Salon Industrie, Paris-Nord Villepinte.
